Highland Park
If you are looking for an upscale, long-established neighborhood that is very family-friendly with absolutely top public schools, consider Highland Park. Generally lying between the Tollway and Central Expressway, north of Douglas and south of Northwest Highway, Highland Park combines with its northern neighbor, University Park, to comprise the more commonly known Park Cities. Although separate public entities, The Park Cities are contained entirely within the City of Dallas.
Its two elementary schools, Bradfield and Armstrong, are Blue Ribbon schools, rated Exemplary and teach grades K-4. Also Exemplary, McCulloch Intermediate and Highland Park Middle School share the same campus for grades 5-6 and 7-8, respectively. Highland Park High School is in District 10-4A, is rated Exemplary as well and boasts numerous state championships in Football, Baseball, Tennis, Swimming and Golf.
Ranked the third wealthiest location in Texas, per capita and 41st overall in the country, Highland Park offers posh homes and fabulous shopping (Highland Park Village shopping center was the second ever built in the U.S.) but in a warm, friendly, family-style neighborhood. Its many parks and ponds along with its exceptional mature landscaping complete the Highland Park experience and make it one of the most sought after neighborhoods in the country.
