West Village

West Village is an urban, young, hip residential neighborhood north of downtown offering luxury condos and townhouses amid shopping and restaurants, many of them developed in the last 10 to 15 years. The area is home to many theaters, sidewalk cafes, trendy bars, art galleries and antique stores.

The West Village is undoubtedly one of the fastest-growing areas in the heart of Uptown, and caters to the urban dwellers of Dallas. Since being completed and opening in 2001, the West Village is an ever evolving walkable shopping and dining district. Also located in this vibrant area is the Magnolia Theater. Built in 2002, this landmark theater plays independent art films and was named “Best Theater in Dallas” by the Dallas Observer and D Magazine. A well-known moving landmark of Uptown is the McKinney Avenue Trolley, with its M-line running from downtown Dallas through Uptown and West Village.
